Nathan Mattise is a 24-year-old journalist and multimedia storyteller originally from Scranton, Pa. He earned his undergraduate degree at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree with a new media focus there as well. In recent years, Mattise wrote for several professional publications and had work published with Esquire, SPIN and The Bleacher Report. However, as of September 2008, he works for a major Northeastern university while pursuing his graduate studies. He takes any freelancing opportunities that come his way and has been an avid blogger since the summer of 2007. Mattise enjoys a variety of things when he’s not busy being an aspiring journalist/novelist/writer/storyteller. He is very passionate about music (he has literally taken a two-week seminar on Radiohead and written over 40 pages on Matisyahu). He also enjoys good fiction, staying in shape, chivalry, Emmy Rossum, board games, taking naps in his jeans, awkward moments, indie rock, tennis, soccer, basketball, bocce ball, dancing, t-shirts, cereal, singing loudly on car rides home, artsy women, reality television and many other of life’s unique delicacies. Examples of his published works can be found here.
