CNY Music Podcast: Phantogram Interview June 10, 2009 I first heard of the band Phantogram during a February 2009 show where they opened for CNY heroes Ra Ra Riot. I was blown away and had to let someone know about. I wrote a blog post, they caught wind and posted in on their MySpace and eventually agreed to an interview with me when they passed through Syracuse. Since then I've written their Wiki entry and done some fan videos while they've signed to Barsuk and released their debut. Story | In Pursuit of the Trivial |

The Syracuse Scene Remixed January 11, 2010 I was asked to create an interactive multimedia package for The NewsHouse. My mind immediately went to local DJs. I grabbed a partner and shot video then created Flash banners with VuVox for a few well-known campus DJs with varying styles. I also contacted some past campus DJs to grab an original track that we could have every DJs involved with the project remix. All of those original remixes are posted with the project. (To the right is an example of one of the videos. Click below to see the full project) Story | The NewsHouse |

Two letters and 60 years July, 28 2008 This is the writing accomplishment I'm perhaps most proud of - I'm a published fiction author through Esquire Magazine. I won't spoil the back story for you (read on for the link) but I wrote a short story while in Albuquerque, N.M. that ultimately ended up as part of Esquire's Napkin Fiction Project. It's inspired me to continue to write short fiction when I have time and hopefully this won't be my last professionally published short story. Story | Esquire.com |

SPIN/Canon present Girl Talk at Hiro Ballroom May 28, 2009 and August 2009 This has to be one of the more unique ways to have your first major magazine published work. I entered a photography contest co-hosted by SPIN Magazine and Canon where they asked fans to submit their best concert photos. The top prizes were tickets to a private Girl Talk show in Brooklynn and a brand new Canon PowerShot SD780. I won one of the top prizes and at the show it just got better. Winners were encouraged to get on stage during the performance, take as many pictures of the performance as they could and then upload them for SPIN to potentially use in features about the event. My photo eventually ended up on SPIN.com and in the August '09 SPIN Magazine. Photo | SPIN Magazine and SPIN.com |

Meet Srdan Lukic March 11, 2010 I was given an assignment to profile a local musician. The only catch was the musician needed to be a musician by hobby and have a different profession. I was introduced to Srdan Lukic - professional by day, musician by night and NY State Golden Gloves competitor full-time. This project is eventually being submitted for consideration to Making Music Magazine. Story | Making Music Magazine |
